These rare Harry Potter illustrations by Mary GrandPré, who illustrated the famous book covers of the series, are fantastic. I have always found GrandPré’s artworks to be captivating, as they are both whimsical and fun at the same time, which is actually rather fitting for the entire theme of the story. I can’t imagine how much time she must have invested into creating all of these, considering that each illustration is very heavy on details.
I especially love ‘The Rescue of Sirius’ (3rd to the last photo) because you can totally see Moony (werewolf), Wormtail (Pettigrew), and Prongs (stag) in the background, therefore, completing The Marauders in one illustration.
Harry Potter will always have a place in my heart. It’s too perfect for my life.
